Here's all you need to know to prepare your baggage and avoid unpleasant surprises at the airport.

Checked luggage

So that you can travel in complete serenity, we recommend that you take note of your baggage allowance (indicated on itinerary or e-ticket).
Checked baggage allowance for an adult or a child between the ages of 2 and 12:
☑️ The allowance depends on your travel class:
- BASIC and BASIC PLUS : No checked luggage
- SMART: 1 23kg (50 lbs) checked bag
- PREMIUM: 2 23kg (50 lbs) checked bags
Maximum total dimensions of baggage (length + width + height) : 158 cm.
Per passenger, 3 pieces of baggage in total with a maximum weight of 64 kg (141 lbs) are allowed.Checked baggage allowances for children under the age of 2:
☑️ One 10 kg (22 lbs) bag and a foldable stroller or a car seat.
Strollers and car seats must be checked in and protected by a plastic covering.
A tape measure, a scale: Check, it only takes 2 minutes!

Responsibility for checked baggage

The airline is legally responsible for all baggage once it is checked in and until the passenger picks up the baggage at the carousel at the airport of the final destination.
Before your departure, please check the list of prohibited items.
You are responsible for the contents of your luggage. It is strictly forbidden to carry luggage which does not belong to you or for you to accept luggage from any other person.
If you declare that you are no longer the owner of your baggage, the airline reserves the right to refuse to carry you(in accordance with the general conditions of transport and the conditions on your ticket) and to pursue a legal claim against you.
You could be asked to be present at the inspection of your luggage (whether delayed, checked in or not checked in) under request of customs or any other government authority.
The Transporter will not be held responsible for any damage or loss occasioned in these situations, notably if you refuse to be present at the inspection of your baggage.
The airline is not responsible for the following articles transported in checked baggage:
- Medication
- Jewelry
- Money (cash)
- Securities
- Business documents
- Identity documents (national identity cards, passports, driving licenses, family books)
- Checkbooks, credit cards, etc.
- Valuables (house or car keys, cameras, video cameras, laptops, cellular phones, hi-fi equipment, etc.)
- Fragile objects (vases, frames, bottles etc.)
- Perishables (foodstuffs, seafood products, flowers, plants, etc.)
- Specimens

Oversize luggage

If your checked baggage exceeds the maximum permitted dimensions and weight (L+W+H = 158 cm maximum and 23kg (50 lbs) in weight), you may check in an oversize bag of up to 32kg (70 lbs) in weight with total dimensions, including length, weight and height of 2.5m maximum.
Reserve and pay for your oversize checked baggage:
- At the French bee desks at the Paris Orly and La Reunion airports.
- Via our call center on 1-833-376-7158 (toll free number) from the USA, from Monday to Saturday, 7am - 10pm (CST time).
Price : 100€ prior to departure / 125€ on the day of departure.
Price Paris <> Papeete: 23 860 XPF before your departure / 29 830 XPF the day of your departure.If you would like to take a bag which exceeds the 32kg (70 lbs) weight limit and with dimensions exceeding 158 cm (L+W+H), you will have to send it through Freight.

Carry-on luggage

Size and weight
One hand bag and on accessory are permitted in the cabin.
☑️ Hand bag; 12 kg (26 lbs) maxmium
The maximum dimensions of the bag are : Length < 21" - Width < 15" - Height < 7" (55 x 40 x 20cm)
The total of the three dimensions may not exceed 115 cm.Measurement checks (dim. : L: 55 cm x W: 40 cm x H 20 cm), must be positioned and used at check-in, boarding and at the sales counter. They are there to help you remember the security rules and to check the dimensions of your bags.
☑️ Accessory: 4 kg (9 lbs) maxmium
Not combinable with the hand baggage weight. It must fit easily under the seat in front of you.
The maximum dimensions of the accessory are: Length < 16" - Width < 12" - Height < 6" (40 x 30 x 15cm)
Examples of accessories: handbag, briefcase or camera.Your bags are your responsibility. You should place them in the provided overhead storage or under your seat without affecting use or access to safety jackets. In no case can baggage be placed in front of the exits or in a place in which they could block a possible evacuation.

Cabin luggage conditions

Before your departure, please check the list of prohibited items.
Prohibited and regulated productsSince 06/11/06, the following items are prohibited (with the exception of items purchased in duty free): Liquids, aerosols, gels and pastes: mineral water, perfumes, drinks, lotions, creams, shower gels, shampoo, mascara, soup, syrups, toothpaste, liquid soap, deodorants. Please place all of your liquids in your checked baggage apart from those you absolutely need during the flight.
At airport security, place tubes and bottles of up to 100ml each in closed transparent plastic bags of approximately 20 cm by 20 cm in size.
Pour your favorite shower gel into a 100ml container so you can take it with you!
Authorized exceptions:
- Liquid medication (e.g., insulin or syrups) which must be presented to security officials with a certificate or a prescription in your name. There are no restrictions on medications in solid form (pills and gel caps).
- Liquid baby food. Remember to bring resealable containers. You could be asked to taste the baby food ! Yum !
Flights from/to The United StatesFor safety reasons, transportation of products in powder form (cosmetics, milk powder, protein powder, coffee, sugar, spices …) on flights to/from or with a landing planned in the United States is restricted to 12oz (350ml) per person in the aircraft cabin.
Exemptions made for : Medically prescribed powder-like substances, baby formula, human remains and powders purchased at duty-free shops (when sealed in a Secure Tamper Evident Bag).If you travel with powder like substances products that are more than 12oz (350 ml), we kindly request you to place the items in your checked bag for travel. When processing random carry on luggage controls at the gate, all substances that exceed the maximum authorized will be thrown away in its totality with no possibility to be placed on hold for transport.
▶️ Sports equipment : bikes and battery powered scooters
The acceptance of bikes and Electric bikes and battery powered scooters on French bee flights is subject to specific rules.
If the item is equipped with a battery, the battery power must be clearly identifiable by the check-in agent.

Regular bike

The bicycle needs to be packed in the following way before acceptance at check-in :
- The bicycle must be packaged in a bicycle box or bicycle bag, cellophane or other plastic film is not permitted.
- Only one bicycle per box/bag is allowed : 23kg maximum and dimensions : 90cm*75cm*55cm
- No other items can be carried in the bicycle box/bag (i.e. clothing)
- The handlebars must be flush with the frame
- Pedals must be removed or flush against the frame
- Deflating tires is a plus but not mandatory.
- The bike is not included in the baggage allowance.

Electric bicycle

The electrical bicycle are permitted under certain circumstance. Packing rules are the same as for regular bicycles but the following conditions must be observed when transporting the batteries:
If the battery can’t be removed : the transportation of eletrical bike is strictly forbidden.
Types & Packing rules for batteries :
- Lithium ion battery transport is strictly forbidden if battery power is ≥ 160 Wh.
- Between 100 Wh & 160 Wh : removed from device, packed individually on a rigid box, placed in the carry-on piece of baggage.
- A maximum of 2 batteries is allowed in the carry-on baggage and must not be packed together.
- In any case, batterie are forbidden in the hold piece of baggage.
- The electrical bicycle is not included in the baggage allowance.

Battery powered scooters

Battery powered scooters are accepted under the same conditions as electrical bicycles. If the battery can’t be removed : the transportation of battery powered scooter is strictly forbidden.
Types & Packing rules for batteries :
- Lithium ion battery transport is strictly forbidden if battery power is ≥ 160 Wh.
- Between 100 Wh & 160 Wh : removed from the scooter, packed individually on a rigid box, placed in the carry-on piece of baggage.
- A maximum of 2 batteries is allowed in the carry-on baggage and must not be packed together.
- In any case, batterie are forbidden in the hold piece of baggage.
- The battery powered scooter is not included in the baggage allowance.
▶️ Special baggage : sporting weapon
Sporting Weapons may be transported under the following conditions:
- The Weapon must be unloaded
- The Weapon and ammunition may be transported in the same baggage item, but must be packed in separate bags within that baggage item
- The Weapon and ammunition cannot be transported in a baggage item(s) containing other personal items
- Ammunition must be packed in a single container (fiberboard, wood or metal box) weighing up to 5 kg (including container) per passenger
- Cartridges must remain in their original packaging, and any empty spaces must be filled with stuffing material to avoid slippage during the flight
- Passenger must be in possession of licence, Weapon certificate and declaration form available below. These documents must be shown at check-in.

▶️ Import of plants, plant products and fruits
The transport of plants in luggage is strictly regulated.
In order to be transported or sent to the European continental territory (including France), plants, fruits, vegetables and plant products transported in travelers' luggage and packages must meet certain conditions.
We recommend you to check the customs rules of your destination country before your departure.
